Ivanjica Round table for young entrepreneurs
A round table on the topic of youth self-employment was held in Ivanjica in the organization of Municipality’s Youth Office together with local employers, secondary schools and Youth Employment Center. Previously, as a part of ongoing project "A model for improving the competencies of young unemployed in order to mitigate the negative consequences of migration" , analysis of the needs of unemployed youth and defining priority areas for starting their own business was conducted. Results obtained are related to areas of interest for youth entrepreneurship. This information is important for the upcoming period and the development of project ideas in order to grant Start Up non-refundable funds for starting their own business.
The speakers of the Round Table were young entrepreneurs, who successfully started their own businesses and stepped into the entrepreneurial world. They shared their stories, knowledge and experiences with young people who are interested in a similar career path. A large number of students from local Gymnasium and Technical School attended the event. The participants had the opportunity to learn about starting their own business and all the challenges that accompany it directly through examples of young entrepreneurs who were able to convey this information to them first hand. This kind of exchange of experiences can be of great importance for everyone who wants to start their own business and steer their career in that direction in the future. All activities are implemented within the framework of the IOM-UNDP Global Programme "Making Migration Work for Sustainable Development", funded by the Swiss Government through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The IOM-UNDP Global Programme on Making Migration Work for Sustainable Development aims to harness the development benefits and reduce the negative effects of migration for host and home communities, migrants and their family members to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It is a 4-year programe running from November 2019 to October 2023 and is implemented in 11 countries.
